ADAPTING SUNG TEXT

Translation and metric adaptation from French to Italian of “Les oiseaux qu’on met en cage”, “The birds they put in cages”, from the musical “Notre Dame de Paris”.

I translated into Italian the lyrics of the musical “Notre Dame de Paris” from French to Italian, with a primary focus on preserving the metrics required for singing in Italian. This Italian translation demanded a delicate balance of language nuances, poetic elements, accent considerations, and the management of word lengths to ensure the adaptability of my version to the musical composition.

After completing the entire translation from French to Italian, I took the initiative to showcase its musical viability: I recorded one of the songs with my voice accompanied by a masculine vocal counterpart. This demonstration of the adaptation of my translated lyrics shows their singability and musical harmony.
